SCS Announces 2013 National Merit Commended Scholars and National Merit Semifinalist
In October 2011, the PSAT was taken by more than 1.5 million juniors from over 22,000 US high schools. From these 1.5 million testers, the National Merit Scholarship Program selects about 34,000 high scorers to be named National Merit Commended Scholars. These are students who scored in the top 4% of all testers.
SCS is thrilled to recognize our three National Merit Commended Scholars for this high academic achievement:
- Millicent Gabriel
- Kelly Gross
- Stancey Smith
The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes the top 16,000 scorers nationwide as National Merit Semifinalists. These students scored in the top 1% nationally and have the opportunity to continue in the competition. We are so proud to recognize the following student who has been named a National Merit Semifinalist:
- Bobby Stroup
He will be notified in February if he has been named a National Merit Scholar.
